The name of this new blog is a play on the names of my hometown of Mainz, Germany and that of Helsingin Sanomat, the biggest daily newspaper in Finland. The daily newspaper of the city of Helsinki, where I the author was born 25 years ago and the newspaper my own father has been printing for much longer than the 25 years.
The intention of this blog is anyhow not to become a news service of some kind, I chose the name simply because it reflects my personal background, my possible future aspirations, and suggests that this is not due to become only a personal blog. That is to say, I'm not intending to write much about my own life, rather about daily topics that happen for a reason or another interest me.
I'll be writing this blog possibly on quite irregular basis, as its purpose is purely to help me to develop my writing skills and to help me progress my thoughts about this or that topic - if it will ever have (m)any readers seems at the moment completely secondary.
It is also possible that I will at some point start to write this blog in either German or Finnish instead, only the time will show.
